What is a stabilizer?

Also known as a backer it is an essential item for embroidery machines. Applied to the back or wrong side of the fabric it supports the fabric during the stitching process to keep the fabric from stretching and puckering.
We sell all three types of stabilizers, cutaway, tear away and wash away in various applications.

What is Interfacing?

Interfacing or interlining is a textile applied to the back of the fabric as an additional layer to increase the strength, structure and shape to an otherwise limp draping fabric. Or to prevent a stretchy fabric from stretching.

It's used in all kinds of sewing projects like patchwork, quilts,  embroideries, bag making, tailoring and dressmaking. In garments, it is often used to stiffen certain areas such as buttonholes, waistbands, seams, collars, pockets and cuffs.
